Hash House a Go Go was featured on an episode of Man v. Food on Food Network one time. I immediately chose this spot as our dinner rendezvous after ogling pictures of their famous sage fried chicken and waffles. It did not disappoint! The portion was monstrous and the presentation grand! The sage and knife stuck out of the dish itself, racking it up to be close to 2 feet tall!
It included: 2 pieces of fried chicken, a whole Belgian waffle cut into fourths and cooked with layers of bacon, a maple sauce topped with mounds of deep fried green onion straws. In one word: wicked. The restaurant also brought out free honey butter biscuits the size of big fists just in case that wasn’t enough food. It did take me 2 turns but I had conquered this dish by the end of the night :).
